BOYS 9/10 WIN Div 2 MToC!

After a HARD fought season and 5 playoff games, our team won it all this year in Division 2 for the STATE playoffs sponsored by MASSACHUSETTS YOUTH SOCCER!

Congratulations to the coaches and players who remained focused thru the rain both weekends and marched on to close it out Sunday June 25th in a double header. We scored just as the half ended with a direct kick and the game ended 1-0. The team came out in the second half - kept the pressure up - was given several opportunities to increase their lead, but their opponent was equally matched. EVERY player participated in the win - and we couldn't be prouder.

Medford had 7 teams (out of 32!) qualify for Commissioner's Cup, of which 4 won, 2 of those were qualifiers for MToC. Our Girls 5/6-1 team moved on and strongly represented both Medford and Middlesex Youth Soccer during MToC as well.

Congratulations also go out to Lino Cabral (Boys Travel Age Director) and Sue Downs (Girls Travel Age Director) who worked hard over the 2022-2023 season to make sure our teams were properly placed in their divisions, assigning their coaches, placing players on balanced teams and following up with weekly representation at games and practices.

While winning the prize is absolutely amazing - we also look out over Playstead Park, Medford High Edgerly Field, Andrews Filed and Victory Park each week and appreciate all the volunteers who spend so much time teaching the game of soccer to all our players and design gameplay to drive the very best out of each and every Medford Youth Soccer player.

We had over 800 Medford Youth Soccer players last year, and we continue to grow! For the first time in DECADES we filled teams before registration closed. Our IntraCity Program has maxed out 3 years in a row! We LOVE to play soccer and WE LOVE to see how much our players and coaches love it too!

Our 2023-2024 season begins August 28 and we cant wait to see our players and coaches having fun on the pitch! Who knows, maybe we will have a few more teams headed to Commissioner's and MToC?!?
