Dear Youth Soccer Families,

We hope this communication finds you, your family and friends healthy and staying safe. We are truly disappointed that the Spring Schedule had to be cancelled - but please rest assured that we have been working diligently to be able to provide a  program going forward under the guidance of our governing bodies (US Youth Soccer, Massachusetts Youth Soccer and Middlesex Youth Soccer) while remaining in compliance with state and local health regulations.  Up until May 13th, we as a league were still discussing the possibility of a shortened season, unfortunately we now know this cannot happen and we are focusing our attention on our return to the field when we can safely do so.  

The Governor of Massachusetts announced reopening plans for the state including direction for the phased reintroduction of outdoor recreation and youth sports activities. Full information of the state reopening can be found using the links below:

Based on direction provided by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the previously announced extension of Mass Youth Soccer’s suspension of all affiliated and sanctioned soccer activities statewide is now further extended through and including Sunday, June 14, 2020. This suspension covers and pertains to Mass Youth Soccer’s member organizations (towns, clubs and leagues), and continues to include, but is not limited to: all games (of all types), practices, clinics, training, tournaments and in-person meetings. 

What this means for Medford Youth Soccer: 

1) We are rolling forward all paid registrations.  Shortly you will have the ability to register for either the Fall 2020 season or Spring 2021 season if your player does not play in the Fall,  and you will be given full credit for the registration fee you already paid for the Spring 2020 season. 

2) We are closely monitoring our ability to get field permits and hope to (fingers crossed) offer some training sessions in July and August if the public health regulations in effect at that time allow us to do so. 

We are VERY fortunate to have so many talented volunteers who manage and coach our programs,  We come from all levels of experience and truly LOVE the game of soccer and only want to see your (our) children succeed and have fun.  We are adjusting to the "new normal" just like everyone else and are continuing to make the appropriate adjustments to keep our members safe.  Stay tuned for information on registration and continuing updates on our ability to slowly return to play.
