Volunteer to Coach

The link here --> Coach Registration - Help Guide is a PDF document that has step by step instructions on how to register to be a coach, and will assist in getting through steps 1-3 below.

Step 1: Sign up as a head coach or assistant coach in bluesombrero (the sports management software behind medfordsc.org)
- This will allow Travel Age Directors and Intracity Program Directors to assign you to your child(ren)'s team. This is typically done when you are registering your child for the program.

Step 2: Complete the CORI process ADULT/CORI Registration - Online Application (sportsaffinity.com)

- Click "Register Now"
- Create your account (or click on your returning account)
- Log in and complete the required fields.
- Coaches must have a current coaching lanyard for each season (Grades 3 and above only).

Step 3: Complete the Safesport training and concussion training courses on the MA Youth Soccer site (available after you complete step two from above).

Step 4: (OPTIONAL): Learn more about the game. Take an online course, or two!

- This link will explain t the grassroots coaching courses and what is available to you. https://www.ussoccer.com/coaching-education/licenses/grassroots

- In order to complete the grassroots coaching courses, sign up at the digital coaching center below and complete the Intro to Grassroots Coaching which is a prerequisite to all other coaching courses.

Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
This free introductory module, which represents the first step in the newly revised coaching license pathway, is now the general starting point of the pathway and is the required prerequisite to undergo any of U.S. Soccer's Grassroots Licensing Courses.

Coaches who complete the module will also be provided with four complimentary Play-Practice-Play training sessions. The module takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
